Oh, Really? (Joining the Crowd in Deriding Wolfram Day)
Fresh evidence that the web has made us stupid, even the geniuses at Wolfram Research:
How could they not know this?
Re: Oh, Really? (Joining the Crowd in Deriding Wolfram Day)
They don't know that because they are not providing full English comprehension. Nor is it a product feature list comparison tool. The tool allows for abasic form of a small set of DSL like language processing techniques on data sets that have benn loaded, cleansed and cultivated by humans. The tool allows you to then use a computational DSL to do analytical comaprisons and calculations I. That data. Obviously they have not been so smug as to load the feature list of Mathamatica into the system as an analytical data set!

Making the world's knowledge computable
Today's Wolfram|Alpha is the first step in an ambitious, long-term project to make all systematic knowledge immediately computable by anyone. You enter your question or calculation, and Wolfram|Alpha uses its built-in algorithms and growing collection of data to compute the answer. Based on a new kind of knowledge-based computing...
