Don't Let Programmers Do User Interfaces

They think too much like a machine, not humans.

I ordered a new laptop at the Office Depot online store 10 days ago. I have been tracking the progress of the order through their website.

There is something that just seems odd with the page:

What's up with the second item? It does have a valid looking SKU number but a product name of "None"?

I bet the developer of the webapp has a perfectly good explanation for it. But in this case, it doesn't matter how good your explanation is. What's shown in my browser is WRONG.

That's big talk from somebody using a blink tag in their post. ;)

Re: Don't Let Programmers Do User Interfaces

Just wait until I perfect my AJaX-enabled blinking tag! It will phone home and emit Morse code at the same time. :)

Oooh.. A "Sempron 3300+" with "Hypermemory", "SpeedBooster", and a "Wide Viewing" display. Is there a "turbo" button on it? Color me "hype fatigued".. Make sure and call and ask where your CMP5181962 is when you get the all the boxes.

I'm more excited about the copy of Microsoft Works I'm going to get than anything else! :) Just think how much I can sell it for on eBay.

Re: Don't Let Programmers Do User Interfaces

The sad thing is that some sales guy in charge of "Works" in Redmond might just go over a milestone based on your sale. You could personally be responsible for the guy getting a free cruise or trip up the Space Needle (free Starbucks included for entire family). I use my Microsoft Works disc as a coaster.
